Ingredients

  • 1 cup cooked hot grits
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 12 ounces cooked ham, diced
  • 1 9-in. frozen pie crust
  • 5 eggs, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Method

Step 1

Combine grits and butter. Stir until butter is melted and grits are smooth and creamy. Add ham. Pour mixture into pie shell.

Step 2

In medium bowl, beat together eggs, whipping cream, pepper and cheese. Pour over grits mixture.

Step 3

Bake at 375° for 30 to 40 minutes until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
