Ingredients (filling)

6 ounces cream cheese

1/4 cup sugar

1 tablespoon flour

2 egg whites

Ingredients

  • 1 cup pumpkin
  • 1/2 cup applesauce
  • 1 egg
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1-2/3 cups flour
  • 1-1/4 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon cloves
  • 1/3 cup chopped nuts

Method

Step 1

Mix filling ingredients in a bowl and set aside.

Step 2

Beat pumpkin, applesauce, egg, egg whites and oil.

Step 3

Mix flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and cloves. Add to pumpkin mixture. Stir in nuts. Divide 1/2 of batter in 2 greased loaf pans. Spread each with filling. Top with remaining batter. Bake at 350° for 40 to 45 minutes. Cool for 10 minutes. When cool, refrigerate.
