Ingredients

  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1 cup (1 small can) crushed pineapple with juice
  • 2 tablespoons margarine or butter
  • 2 tablespoons corn starch
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Method

Step 1

In a saucepan combine corn starch, butter, and sugar. Stir over low heat until butter is melted and sugar and corn starch are dissolved.

Step 2

Add water and pineapple. Boil for 5 minutes. Stir in cloves and cinnamon. Serve warm with ham, smoked sausage, Spam, or pork chops, as a topping on ice cream or pound cake, or mix into waffle or pancake batter.
