Ingredients

  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 2 egg whites at room temperature
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup crushed strawberries

Method

Step 1

Freeze milk in bowl until ice crystals begin to form around edges.

Step 2

In a small bowl beat egg whites and salt until soft peaks form. Gradually beat in sugar until stiff peaks form. Transfer to large bowl.

Step 3

In same small bowl beat chilled milk and vanilla until stiff peaks form. Fold with strawberries into egg white mixture. Freeze for 4 hours or until firm. Makes about 6 cups.
