Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound uncooked spaghetti
  • 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
  • 1 can anchovies, coursely chopped
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • fresh parsley, Parmesan cheese, crushed red pepper, optional

Method

Step 1

Cook spaghetti according to package directions.

Step 2

In a skillet heat olive oil over medium-low heat. Add garlic and anchovies. Stir and cook for about 2 minutes, until the anchovies begin to dissolve. Stir in water and cook for 2 minutes into a thin sauce.

Step 3

Pour sauce through a strainer over the spaghetti. Garnish with fresh parsley, Parmesan cheese, or crushed red pepper if desired.
